Scott & Bruce’s Effortless Wedding at Bodriggy Brewing

Some wedding days feel electric from the moment you arrive. Scott and Bruce’s celebration at Bodriggy Brewing in Abbotsford was exactly that — vibrant, heartfelt and full of personal touches. I had the privilege of supporting them as their on-the-day Wedding Coordinator, ensuring every detail was beautifully executed so they could stay fully present with the people they love.
Pre-Wedding Planning & Preparation
A month before their wedding, we met online and talked through their plans so far, which was a lovely chance to get to know Scott and Bruce - and meet their son and dog! Over the next couple of weeks they finalised all details with their suppliers, and we met four days out from the big day at Bodriggy Brewery where the ceremony and reception were to take place. This meeting allowed us to discuss all the logistics - ceremony placement, guest flow, furniture movements, lighting, sound, where key moments would unfold, and how I could support them.
Creating the Atmosphere: Setup & Styling Support
Their wedding involved an enormous number of thoughtful details, and my role was to bring each one to life. On the day, I:
Oversaw all supplier arrivals, setup, and troubleshooting
Set the ceremony area and arranged guest seating
Placed signage, table seating maps, family photos and special memorial items
Styled dining tables, stairways and the breakout room with 110 small jars and 55 candles, arranging pillar clusters, tealights and LED candles throughout the venue.
Set up spaces for special moments including the pride pin station, video voicemail phone, and memorial table
Prepared the venue for guest arrival, adjusting lighting, moving furniture, managing storage, and ensuring every part of the venue felt intentional
Assisted with the setup for dinner, speeches, entertainment and transitions throughout the night
All these tasks meant Scott and Bruce didn’t have to worry about anything - every detail was handled quietly and seamlessly so they could focus on getting ready, and arriving at the venue calm and unrattled.

Ceremony Coordination
The ceremony was heartfelt, warm and full of personality. My responsibilities included:
Ushering guests and prioritising seating for immediate family
Coordinating with Zena (celebrant), the band and the MC
Cueing processional music and key transitions
Recording the ceremony so the couple didn’t miss a moment
While guests mingled, I brought champagne to the newlyweds, moved furniture, assisted with band setup for the first dance, and prepared the next part of the evening.

Reception, Logistics & Guest Experience
Throughout the night, I handled all logistics so Scott and Bruce could simply enjoy:
Monitoring venue lighting and sou
Cueing two blocks of speeches and assisting speakers
Video recording speeches
Supporting “mindful moments” — taking the couple to a private area to pause and soak in their celebration
Supporting venue staff and suppliers
Ensuring guests participated in the photo booth and video activities

Scott and Bruce’s day was the perfect example of how an on-the-day wedding coordinator can transform a celebration.
